This is normal, expected behavior and a sign the protection is working. Smart overcurrent protection also cuts power within 0.1 seconds if current exceeds 8A, guarding both the battery and the dish from overloads and surges. Clean, steady voltage matters, because brief power dips are one of the most common reasons a dish drops offline or restarts mid call.
Thickened copper alloy contacts with a gold plated finish resist bending and corrosion through hundreds of battery swaps, even in humid and coastal conditions.
